About the Kedarnath Yatra

Kedarnath is one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations dedicated to Lord Shiva and is among the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. The temple is located at an altitude of 3,583 meters above sea level in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand and is surrounded by the majestic Himalayan mountains.

Every year thousands of devotees travel to Kedarnath to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva and experience the divine atmosphere of the Himalayas. The Kedarnath Yatra is also part of the famous Char Dham pilgrimage circuit, which includes Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

About Kedarnath Temple

Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and holds immense religious significance. According to legend, after the Mahabharata war, the Pandavas sought forgiveness from Lord Shiva for the sins of killing their relatives.

Lord Shiva tried to avoid them and took the form of a bull. When the Pandavas recognized him, he disappeared into the ground, leaving his hump visible at Kedarnath. Other parts of his body appeared at different places which are today worshipped as the Panch Kedar temples.

Day 04: Guptkashi – Rishikesh – Delhi

After breakfast, begin the return journey towards Delhi, passing through Rishikesh, a famous spiritual town located on the banks of the Ganga River.

Rishikesh is also known as the Yoga Capital of the World and is home to many ashrams, temples, and meditation centers. Visitors can explore places such as Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula.

After sightseeing, continue the journey to Delhi with beautiful memories of the Kedarnath pilgrimage.

The best time to visit Kedarnath is between May and October, when the temple remains open for pilgrims.
